The Butterfly Couple

The Notebook.. the book by Nicolas Sparks made into a movie played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams narrates the love story of a couple who died in each other’s arms in peaceful slumber. What an ideal end – in sickness and in health, till death do us part.

Papa and mama lived a similar destiny. After 55 years of being together, mama died with papa sleeping beside her. Till death did they part. And papa followed soon after sleeping in the same place where mama used to sleep. Who would have thought that mama, 13 years younger than papa, would go on ahead. And God called papa home 4 months and 9 days after. 4 months and 9 days … this period of time is relatively short.. As these days were filled with grief, pain and sufferings, time seemed to pass by so slowly. While seemingly short, it is long enough for me to learn so many valuable lessons that God has for me. It opened my eyes to see the many wonderful moments of grace that only our amazingly loving Father in heaven gives for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
